Role of System Administrator

During ProjectDox installation, the initial user is given System Administration rights via the database. When subsequent users are invited to a project, their permissions are set during the invitation. There should only be a few System Administrators to manage ProjectDox and perform site cleanups, maintain projects, users, system configuration, and defaults.

Only System Administrators can grant System Administration rights to other users. System Administrators have access to all projects, folders, and functionality.

The initial System Administrator should set up the entries for Default Site Group, Default Project Templates, Project Status, Required User Info, User Metadata, and Discussion Board before the first project is created so that the basic front-end work, folders, and subfolders are in place. Changes, additions, or deletions can be made at any time following the initial project creation.

System Administrators can run a variety of troubleshooting tests by selecting the Troubleshoot item from the Admin screen drop down list. Available tests include SMTP Email, URL Spawning, and Folder Permissions.
